Piano Tip On Major Scales

To determine the major scale of any key, simply count the keys, from the key you want to determine. Using that key as zero, count (2 2 1 2 2 2 1 ). Understand that you count all white and black keys or every semitone. For example for key of C major, C would be 0 then (2 2 1 2 2 2 1) would be D, E, F, G, A, B, C. The key of E would be E being zero  E, F#, G#, A, B, C#, D#, E. This will work with all 12 major keys.
